The Comet makes the list purely for its great historical significance (It's been making us hurl since 1927). That said, it does boast some epically awesome hills and drops, resulting in some truly rad air time.

Known as the world's longest wooden roller coaster, the Beast offers one of the world's longest running times. You'll experience feelings of exhilaration (mixed with a little gastronomic pain) for a full 4 minutes and 50 seconds. Don't think you can handle close to five minutes of stomach churning action? Stay off the ride.

8. The Cyclone: Astroland, Brooklyn, NY
In 1927, this ride broke records in speed, height and fright and continues to push those boundaries in the present. The coaster has been imitated across the world, mostly owing to its infamous 58.6 degree drop, plummeting you down to earth at a rip roaring 60 mph.

9. Magnum XL-200: Cedar Point, Sandusky, OH
Arguably the world's best steel coaster, the Magnum XL-200 was the first of its kind to break the 200-foot height barrier when it opened in 1989. Forget the thrills and high speeds; make sure you keep your eyes open so you can view the stunning scene of Lake Erie from the top. That is of course, if your stomach can handle it.
